I ever heard those words from my mom:
"If you asked me a few years ago, my favorite season would have been winter. I'd make up a story about how much I love Christmas and sweaters, but what I really liked was that I could disguise my body in layers and no one would know what I looked like. I was terrified of summer, and I'd skip every pool party, outdoor picnic, and beach day because I was embarrassed to be seen in a swimsuit. Not only did I miss out on wonderful occasions with friends and family, but I also grew to despise my body. Hating my appearance can become boring after a time, and it saps any energy I have to do anything else."
After a few years, she can finally say that she loves summer, as terrifying as it can be at times. Here are some of the techniques I've used to make her feel at ease enough to wear bikinis for years.
Choose the Best Swimwear for Your Body Shape
Choosing the correct swimsuit may make or break your vacation. Do you like a one-piece suit or a high-waisted bottom with a bandeau top? Do you prefer cut-outs or do you prefer complete coverage? Trying on multiple swimsuits to see which one looks best on you might help you feel secure and excited on the beach.
Shopping for a swimsuit is towards the top of most women's lists of the most uncomfortable things they've ever had to do, but getting the right swimsuit is critical. Beyond the style and color, you must choose a swimsuit that fits well in order to feel secure. It should be snug in the proper areas. It should be either too long or too short. Picking wedges and being concerned about losing your top in the waves does not make for an assured swimmer. Santic-OEM will assist you if you are still unsure about which swimsuit to buy.
"Practice" in Your Own Home
This may sound strange, but it has greatly aided me. Put on your swimwear and lounge around the home. Do some washing, watch some Netflix, prepare dinner — whatever it is you do at home. This makes you feel more at ease in your swimsuit. Perhaps the bottoms are too tight or too wide, making it difficult to walk about in, or you discover that this swimsuit makes your butt seem wonderful. This allows you to decide if you like how it fits before going to the pool, and it requires you to spend time with your body in ways you might not normally.
Surround Yourself with Family and Friends
People that love and support you for who you are when you are nervous or self-conscious are always my go-to. Go to the beach with some confident pals who will focus on the fun you're having rather than how you appear. Spend no time with persons who compare their bodies to others, whine, or disgrace themselves. It's difficult enough dealing with my own inner critics; the last thing I need is someone else criticizing my body.
Forget about "BIKINI Preparation"
Whatever anyone says, everybody is a "bikini body." Realizing you don't need juice to cleanse or a particular workout to feel confident on the beach makes it all worthwhile. Swimming, lounging by the pool with a nice book, catching up with a good buddy while resting on a beach blanket, strolling by the water – there are so many delightful activities you can do in a swimsuit that is far more valuable than looking a specific way. Being active and eating healthily is always beneficial, but keep in mind that your body is ready for a swimsuit at any time.
Stop Caring What Other People Think
Okay, so your body has changed slightly as a result of the lockdown. What does it matter? You are stunning, and you should be comfortable in a bikini no matter what! Stop worrying about what other people think of you and start embracing yourself.
When it comes to beach time, folks tend to be snarky. "She has no business wearing that bikini!" Please reverse the negativity. When you see other people positively, you will see yourself positively as well. Also, now that the negativity is gone, you may look at individuals with fresh eyes. You'll probably notice a lot of people who don't have the same body as the models in magazines but are happy, confident, and gorgeous.
Compare Yourself to No One
People have been affected by comparison in a variety of ways. Some people have found it more difficult as anxiety has crept in, and they may have lost weight as a result of not being able to sleep and not eating. Others might have gained weight. In any case, what is important is that you are happy and healthy! This summer, embrace your bikini confidence and create a statement.
Be Aware That Social Media Can Be Harmful
It's critical that you don't let social media drag you down during this difficult time. Many women will be taking to Instagram to flaunt their bikini bodies, so don't judge yourself based on what you see online. Everyone is unique, but more importantly, everyone is lovely.
Purchase a Nice Cover-up and Some Amusing Accessories
Walking from the automobile to the beach might be the most painful and frightening experience. Having the correct cover-up on that walk that makes you feel less vulnerable improves the entire beach day. Want something that will completely conceal you? A sheer wrap dress or top accentuates your swimwear while making you feel more modest. A wrap skirt accentuates that lovely bikini top or one-piece — or, if you can't go on vacation, it will make you feel like you're sipping drinks all day instead of at the neighborhood pool. Investing in making your suit appear extra fantastic can go a long way. Going the additional mile with your accessories, whether it's a lovely pair of sunglasses, a floppy straw hat, the perfect beach bag, or an adorable pair of pool slides, gives you that extra boost of confidence.
Make It Up Until You Make It
Confidence is appealing. However, confidence is not something you can choose to have. However, you have the option of faking it! Even if you're feeling self-conscious, walk along the beach as if you're the most confident person on the planet. Most likely, no one will notice your "false" confidence and will instead note how radiant and great you look. And this will boost your confidence to the point where you will no longer need to fake it.
Ladies, you are stunning regardless of your size, height, or shape. Put on well-fitting swimwear and enjoy some time in the sun!
